Advice that has never been in production is a theory. Operating our own products means we are on the hook for uptime, for migrations, for the support mail, and for the decisions we made eighteen months ago, which are the same consequences our clients live with.
It is also the cheapest way to stay current. New platform constraints and new tooling get met on our own time and our own risk, before they get recommended to anyone else.
